Puberty Barbie

The doll was launched under the names 'Growing Up Skipper' and 'Growing Up Ginger'. The young tween doll had the "ability" to grow breasts, all you had to do was crank its arm and pop they appeared.

Gay Ken

Launched under the name 'Earring Magic Ken', this 1993 doll was supposed to make Barbie's companion "cooler". The doll wore a mesh shirt, a purple pleather vest, a necklace, and an earring in his left ear. Some thought that this doll promoted homosexuality. Today it is a collector's item.

Pregnant Barbie

This pregnant Barbie doll was named Midge and was discontinued because some thought it was promoting teen pregnancy. Midge did get a mention in the first moments of the movie.

Barbie's pooping dog

The doll named 'Tanner the Dog' could poop and came with a pooper-scooper. Its food/poop pellets contained a magnet that reportedly was loose and became a health hazard.

Vlogger Barbie

It seems like a good idea, but 'Video Girl Barbie' was an actual camera, with a video screen on its back. In 2010, the FBI warned that this doll posed a danger and could be used for child pornography.

Sugar Daddy Ken

The doll was discontinued for obvious reasons — its name. This Ken was not a sugar daddy in the slang term kind of way, rather he was the daddy of a dog named Sugar. As per Inverse, the doll was a special collector's edition doll and was discontinued in 2012.
