Let's be honest, Jason Bourne means Matt Damon and despite Jeremy Renner being a phenomenal actor, The Bourne Legacy just didn't have the same emotional value. No wonder, it was the lowest-earning movie of the franchise.
Having nearly hung up his boots after the third instalment, Damon returned for another hurrah in 2016 with director Paul Greengrass alongside him. The film took on new challenges but could not touch the highs of the trilogy.
Perhaps the greatest car chase in the franchise history came in this movie. A young Damon built upon the success of Bourne's origin story and kicked off a special franchise. The movie was shot in Goa, Berlin, and Moscow.
Having watched the likes of formulaic Ethan Hunt and James Bond, Jason Bourne was a breath of fresh air. The shakycam panache of the franchise which would later become the calling card, instantly made die-hard fans.
The movie tops the list because of its ending alone. Moby's Extreme Ways playing in the background and Bourne doing Bourne things. Ultimatum was the highest-grossing movie of the franchise and gave a satisfying end to the trilogy.
