Jailer

Superstar Rajnikanth made a rocking comeback to the big screen. In the movie, Rajnikanth plays the role of a jailer named Muthuvel Pandian, aka Tiger. The film made Rs 600 crore (Rs 6 billion) at the box office. 

Leo

Leo, which marks the second collaboration between Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vijay after their 2021 film Master, became a blockbuster. Earning Rs 600 crore (Rs 6 billion), the movie emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2023. 

Veera Simha Reddy 

Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the action-packed Telugu drama film starring Nandamuri Balakrishna was a huge hit and made around Rs 134 crore (Rs 1.3 billion) at the box office. 

Ponniyin Selvan 2 

Mani Ratnam’s enchanting world of Cholas ruled the year 2023 again. The second part of PS-2 features some of the most prominent actors in Indian cinema, including Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan among others. The movie earned Rs 350 crore (Rs 3.5 billion) at the box office. 

Salaar 

Prashanth Neel ruled 2023 with his action-thriller Salaar. Prabhas-starrer has so far earned Rs 500 crore (Rs 5 billion) at the box office.
