Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein to Shiva: Cult Classics Re-Releasing This Week In Theatres

Its time to rewatch some old favourites on the big screen again. On August 30, Bollywood will see the re-release of three old popular films. 

Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012) 

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Gangs of Wasseypur was released in two parts spread over a few months back in 2012. The two films received massive critical praise at the time of release and focused on the coal mafia of Bihar.

Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein(2001)

R Madhavan, Saif Ali Khan and Dia Mirza made a permanent place in everyone's heart with Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein. The film had recieved mixed reviews at the time of release. It was a remake of south film by the same director- Gautham Menon and gained cult following over time.

Tumbbad (2018)

Tumbbad opened to positive reviews upon its release in October 2018. It was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 5 crore and featured Sohum Shah in a key role. Shah was also the producer of the film and it was helmed by Rahi Anil Barve. 

Kariya (2003)

The Kannada language gangster film featured  Darshan and Abinayasri. The film had received mixed response from critics upon release.

Shiva (1989)

On August 29, to mark Nagarjuna's 65th birthday, his hit film Shiva will be re-released. Ram Gopal Varma directed the cult classic. 

Re-releasing of films

Several films have been re-released in the past few months. Rockstar, Jab We Met, Laila Majnu are some of the films that have been lapped by fans on their re-release.
