The first half of 2023 has gone by, and in the past six months, we’ve had a bunch of releases, from Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan to Prabhas’ Adipurush.
While Pathaan become a massive hit, Om Raut’s film tanked at the box office.
Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback movie earned big moolah at the worldwide box office. The film grossed ₹1,050 crore worldwide. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film became the highest-grossing Hindi film worldwide in 2023.
Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan was one of the few disappointments in the first half. The film was bashed by critics and audience alike. The movie did a decent job at the box office, thanks to the big festival date of Eid. Made with a budget of ₹132.5 crore, the film grossed over ₹182.44 crore globally.
Adah Sharma-starrer The Kerala Story may have created massive controversy across the country, but the film became a massive hit. Sudipto Sen’s directorial earned ₹303.97 crore at the worldwide box office.
Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi failed to impress the audience. The movie failed to rake in numbers and has been a huge commercial failure. The movie earned only ₹23.63 crore at the box office.
Mani Ratnam delivered one of the biggest hits last year, and this year, the second part of Ponniyin Selvan took the box office by storm. The film, which boasts an ensemble cast, earned over Rs 345 crore at the box office worldwide.
