Although the official date of the IPL 2024 auction is not out yet, a report from Cricbuzz said that the auction will take place in December.
For the first time, BCCI might hold an IPL auction outside India, most likely at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai.
BCCI set the deadline for player retention and release as November 15. However, they extended the retention and release date to November 26, a week after the ODI World Cup 2023 final.
BCCI has also increased the salary purse for this year by ₹5 crore. Thus, the teams will have a ₹100 crore spending amount at the auction.
Many IPL teams have some amount left in their auction. While Mumbai Indians have ₹50 lakhs left, the Punjab Kings have over ₹12 crores remaining.
