India Women won the toss and decided to bat first in the gold game against Sri Lanka

After the early wicket of Shafali Varma, Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues added 73 for the second wicket.

Some quick wickets then saw India stutter at the end as they managed 116/7 in 20 overs.

Chasing 117, Sri Lanka were rocked by Titas Sadhu's double-wicket maiden over at the start.

Despite a couple of brief partnerships by Sri Lanka, India kept the pressure on by taking wickets at regular interval.

In the end, Sri Lanka could manage only 97/8 in overs as India won the game and the gold by 19 runs.
