Now in his twilight, it is unlikely Virat will end his career breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s 200 Test matches record. At the time of writing, he has played 113 Test matches and is unlikely even to cross 150 Test matches.
Another Tendulkar Record on the list is the most runs Virat looks unlikely to break. Virat at the time of writing has 8848 runs and will almost have to double the tally to surpass the legendary batter as he enters the final few years of his career.
Rohit Sharma’s record of 264 runs in an ODI innings is perhaps the most unbreakable record in the cricket history and Virat looks uncertain to break considering all factors. His best of 183 is still way behind the tally.
While the record can still be broken, the chances of it breaking are slim considering modern-day Test matches last only four days. The 400* record has stood tall for the last two decades and is unlikely to be broken with the modern-day rules.
Like the Test record, Virat will need something extraordinary to break the record for most ODI runs. Virat is currently nearing 14000 runs in the format but still has to make considerable ground if he is to leapfrog Sachin Tendulkar.
