As current CEO and MD Rajesh Gopinathan stepped down on March 16, Krithi Krithivasan will take over the reins of the country's largest IT services business Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), as CEO designate.
Krithi Krithivasan holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology. He also completed his Master's in Industrial and Management Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 1987.
Krithivasan is not a new face within TCS. He has been with the company for over 34 years. He joined in 1989.
He was the President and Global Head of the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) Business Group. He was responsible for nearly 35-40 per cent revenue of TCS from the BFSI segment.
He has held several leadership roles in delivery, customer relationship management, program management and sales.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of TCS Iberoamerica, TCS Ireland and the supervisor board of TCS Technology Solutions AG.
