Married to a Manipuri, Yasir finds himself in India because of both desire and disruption. As a child, he always wanted to come to India but today he cannot go back to his own country because of the war.

It opportunity and freedom in India which has made him what he is today, he says. He serves authentic Yemeni food to thousands of West Asians who flock India for cheap medical treatment. His restaurant is located bang opposite a massive hospital which results in good footfall, he adds. The area is full of people from West and Central Asia, he says and added for thousands of years, it has seen migration which led to new cultures, languages and food.

Yasir completed is education from Aligarh Muslim University. He wants to bring his mother to India.
