In Venezuela, a litre of petrol costs less than a rupee per litre.
The current fuel prices have hit a record high in India with prices going above Rs 80 per litre on Saturday.
The prices of petrol have reached ahigh rate of Rs 80.38 per litre in New Delhi, and diesel at Rs 72.51 per litre.
On the other hand, the price of petrol rose to Rs 87.77 per litre in Mumbai, while diesel at 76.98 per litre.
While the government has maintained that depreciation of the Indian Rupee against the US dollar and a hike in global crude oil prices is causing a surge in domestic oil prices, citizens and the Opposition alike feel the Modi government is not doing enough to curb rising oil prices.
The fuel prices in India is increasing recklessly, however, there are places in the world where fuel prices have remained low.
