Captains With Most Appearances In ICC Finals

Ricky Ponting has made four appearances as captain in ICC finals, winning all of them. He won the 2003 and 2007 ODI World Cup whereas also the 2006 and 2009 Champions Trophy.
MS Dhoni led India to four ICC finals, winning three of them. Under him, India won the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy whereas lost the 2014 T20 WC finale.
Pat Cummins is set to lead Australia in his third ICC final as captain in the forthcoming 2025 WTC final. So far, he has won both the ICC finals as captain, during the 2023 WTC final and ODI World Cup summit clash in the same year.
Clive Lloyd featured in three ICC finals as captain. Under him, West Indies won the 1975 and 1979 ODI World Cup but lost the following edition's finale, to India at Lord's in 1983.
Rohit Sharma has taken India to three ICC finals as captain. Under him, India lost the 2023 WTC final and ODI World Cup finale, held in the same year in Oct-Nov. In 2024, Rohit-led India won the T20 WC in West Indies and the USA.
Kane Williamson led New Zealand in three ICC finals as skipper. Under him, NZ lost the 2019 ODI World Cup final and the 2021 T20 World Cup finale as well. However, the Kiwis won the 2021 WTC final under the famed batter.
Brian Lara led West Indies to three ICC finals during his illustrious career. Under him, WI won the 2004 Champions Trophy but lost the finale of the 1998 and 2006 editions.
