"Whatever you do, it's OK with me," he said after he held bilateral talks with May, adding: "The only thing I ask of Theresa is to make sure we can trade."

Following the bilateral talks, Trump and May both held a joint press conference during which, Trump also dismissed reports of criticising his UK-counterpart's Brexit policies as he termed it 'fake news'.

"I didn't criticise the prime minister... It's called fake news," he said

Meanwhile, Britain and the United States have also agreed to pursue "an ambitious UK-US free trade agreement" Theresa May informed.

"We agreed today that as the UK leaves the European Union, we will pursue an ambitious UK-US free trade agreement," she told a joint press conference.

After the NATO summit on Thursday, Trump had skewered May's Brexit strategy saying it could "kill" prospects for a trade deal with the United States.

As per reports, Trump had also said that the former foreign minister Boris Johnson, who resigned this week in protest over the plan, would make "a great prime minister".

Donald Trump began his four-day visit to Britain as he arrived on Thursday accompanied by US first lady Melania Trump.

According to reports, a major supporter of Brexit, told The Sun that he had advised May to go about leaving the EU in a different way but was ignored.

"I would have done it much differently. I actually told Theresa May how to do it but she didn't agree, she didn't listen to me. She wanted to go a different route," AFP quoted her as saying.
