Nothing can describe how I felt in that moment but I have no one to thank except God, for giving me the opportunity to come out alive and well. I will forever be counting my blessings."

The mid-sized jet was almost full, with 97 passengers and four crew members aboard, when it came down at around 4 pm local time during a hail storn in northen Mexico.

TV images showed the severely damaged body of the plane after it came to rest in scrubland and a column of smoke rose into the sky.
