An unknown Powerball player from Georgia won an estimated jackpot of $478 million on Wednesday. The win ended the state’s record of not winning a Powerball jackpot for over 10 years. Nobody has won the Powerball since August and Wednesday’s jackpot had a cash value of $230.5 million.
Winning numbers for Powerball for 23 October
The winning numbers for the Powerball’s $478 million jackpot were 2-15-27-29-39, Powerball 20. If the winner has all the numbers and Powerball matched, they can take the whole prize value given over 30 years, or a one-time cash prize valued at $230.5 million.
The chance to win a Powerball jackpot is 1 in 292,201,338. The Powerball drawing is conducted every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. It takes place live at 10:59 pm Eastern.

The Powerball ticket is priced at $2 per game, and is sold in 45 states, the District of Puerto Rico, Columbia, and the US Virgin Islands.
How to win Powerball?
The players can choose five numbers from 1-69 for the white balls and one for the Powerball from 1-26. To win a Powerball play, players have to match at least one combination available during the game.

Through the power play priced at $1 per play, players get a chance to increase winnings two, four, or even ten times. If the jackpot's value is less or equal to $150 million, players can multiply their winnings by ten.
