Paneer is a treasure trove of beneficial properties, making it a staple food item in Indian households. However, nowadays some unscrupulous vendors are selling synthetic paneer that can be very harmful to your health.
While buying paneer, mash it with your hands before buying it. Adulterated paneer is made with skimmed milk powder and cannot bear the pressure of hands.
Boil the paneer for five minutes and let it cool. Add a few drops of iodine tincture to it. If the paneer turns blue, it’s artificial.
Add soybean or arhar dal powder to the boiled paneer. If the colour turns to light red, the paneer you’ve bought has been made with detergent or urea.
If the paneer you’ve brought from the market tastes like rubber, it might be artificial. Natural paneer is soft and tastes like milk.
Eating synthetic paneer may pose health risks due to its non-dairy ingredients, additives, and stabilisers. These could lead to digestive issues, allergies, and potential long-term serious health concerns.
