Description: In the wake of an alleged chemical attack that killed dozens of people in Syria, France has decided to strip President Bashar al-Assad of his Legion of Honor.

Shareholders of tesla argued that this caused billions of dollars in damages and that Musk's tweet constituted of fraud as he misled his shareholders, and tried to squeeze the investors. However, a San Francisco Jury found him not guilty of fraud after a three-week trial.

 Pope Francis is in the last leg of his visit to Africa and is currently visiting South Sudan, which has been ravaged by poverty and civil war since the past five years. The Pope urged the top leaders to end bloodshed, and change the course of history for the embattled and impoverished country.

 Worsening power blackouts in South Africa have put vulnerable people at risk and placed significant strain on emergency services, as the country copes with government-enforced 'loadshedding'. State-owned power utility Eskom is currently implementing a high level of blackouts, with households and businesses going without electricity for up to 10 hours daily until further notice. Paramedics describe the impact on the quality of healthcare they are able to provide as a result of the power cuts.

 A 21-year-old man in the United Kingdom (UK) pleaded guilty at London's Old Bailey court on Friday (February 3) to an offence under the Treason Act and threatening to kill late Queen Elizabeth II in 2021. Jaswant Singh Chail admitted the offences after he was arrested wearing a hood, mask and gloves in the grounds of the castle to the west of London on Christmas day in 2021. Queen Elizabeth II was at the castle with her family on the day of the intrusion.

 U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken postponed a visit to China after a suspected Chinese spy balloon was tracked flying across the United States in what Washington called a 'clear violation' of U.S. sovereignty. Military leaders considered shooting down the high-altitude surveillance balloon on Wednesday but eventually recommended against this to President Joe Biden because of the safety risk from debris, officials said.
