2020 Summer Olympics Tokyo, 2020 Olympics Tokyo, 2020 Olympic Games Tokyo ,2020 Olympic Games, Olympic competition schedule, tokyo olympics 2021schedule

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 or officially the Games of the XXXII Olympiad will be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021, in Tokyo, Japan. The quadrennial event was earlier scheduled to be held from July 24 to August 9 in the year 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the rescheduled Games going ahead in Tokyo, international spectators will not be allowed in the 2020 Olympics.

Tokyo was selected as the host city in September 2013 and the city of Japan will host the Summer Olympic Games for the second time, the first being in 1964. This will be the fourth Olympic event to be conducted in Japan, including two Winter Olympics in 1972 and 1998.

However, there has been widespread outrage over Tokyo hosting the Games as the city continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the public opposition, the organisers have been confident that they will successfully hold the Tokyo Olympics 2020 without any major issues.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games mascot has been named Miraitowa. It is a tribute to both the respected tradition and modern innovation of Japanese culture. The Tokyo Olympics 2020 mascot has a personality inspired by the Japanese proverb, “learn from the past and develop new ideas”.

Catch the extensive coverage of Tokyo Olympics 2020 here including all the latest news, photos, videos, complete schedule, and in-depth analysis of the Games.
