Asian Games, Day 4, Highlights: Shooters, sailors shine as India's medal tally reach 22

Second-seeded Indian pair Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale outplayed Ayano Shimizu and Shinji Hazawa in the Mixed doubles Round 3 match at the Asian Games. 

Bhosale- Bopanna beat Shimizu- Bopanna 6-3, 6-4

Nasir Iqbal's win over India's Mahesh Mangaonka saw Pakistan take a 2-1 lead over their arch-rivals in squash in Pool A contest.

India defeated Indonesia 66-46 in the Women's Pool A match in basketball. 

India's mixed doubles team of Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Manika Batra have won their game versus Thailand in the Round of 32 match. 

Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan are on a roll in their game versus China in the opening set. India have won 6-1 in the first set and the pair looks threatening to take the match away. 

Ankita Raina goes down to Japan's Haruka Kaji. Ankita saved a match point to stay in the contest , however, she got broken in the final game to concede the match 6-3, 4-6, 4- in the women's singles quarter-final.

India's star Sumit Nagal has bowed out in the men's singles quarter-final with a loss to to top-seed Zhang Zhizhen 7-6, 2-6, 1-6. It was a stunning comeback from the Chinese top seed who came back from a set down in a good contest. Nagal couldn't make the most of the opportunities and, thus, is eliminated.

"Being able to help the team together was for me a very good part of the mission here. Of course the competition is not over yet," said Ma, who has won as many as a dozen world championship golds.

"There are still many matches my teammates will participate in.I hope that if they need my help I can accompany them as a training partner including some pre-match preparations.

"We still have other competitions ahead after the Asian Games. I will continue to maintain a certain amount of training, but it is different than before and this could well be my last edition of the Asian Games."

On being asked about the prospect of defending his Olympic title in Paris 2024, Ma said: "Paris is still too early to say for me.

Indian shooters have won a gold in 50m rifle team event.
