The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) nations on Thursday announced that it will continue its presence in Afghanistan. NATO also noted that it will fund Afghan security forces until 2024.
The organisation stated that its presence in Afghanistan depends on any further appropriate change.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that financing for Afghan security forces through 2024 will aid them in developing their special forces and air force as they continue to fight international terrorism.
The NATO chief also expressed strong support for Afghan President Ashraf Ghani's peace proposal.
