President Putin is set to host PM Modi in his "mansion" at Sochi.However, Modi is not the first person to visit the marvellous palace of the Russian president. There have been other world leaders who have visited the palace earlier.
The plush mansion reportedly built in Praskoveevka in Krasnodar Krai has been the focus of world media attention for several years. Putin's 'personal' holiday home famously called 'dacha Putin' reportedly cost $1 billion to the Russian exchequer.
Reports say the sea facing mansion consists of gold-plated swimming pools, three helipad and several rooms.The property is reportedly spread over 40 acres.
Marble floors & posh rooms
A marble tile floor, a big flat-screen TV and empty bookshelves lent the room a nouveau-riche air, reports say.The gilded taps in the bathroom are reportedly labeled “hot” and “cold” in English, perhaps explaining why they’d been installed in the reverse positions also an indication that it would be used extensively by world leaders.
Assad & Erdogan in Putin's Palace
Russian president Putin has hosted Syrian President Bashar al Assad at the marvellous palace in Sochi.Turkish president Erdogan has also visited Putin's palace.
Putin's personal use
It has been claimed the "dacha" was built for Putin's "personal use" and that construction began during his first Presidency. Reports claim about the project, which allegedly made improper use of state resources, were made by Sergei Kolesnikov.
Palace on the Idokopas Cape
The residence at Cape Idokopas also known as the "Palace on the Idokopas Cape", often called in the media as "Putin’s country cottage" is a large Italianate palace complex located on the Black Sea coast.
Modi to meet at Putin's Palace
Both Prime Minister Modi and the Russian President Putin will be meeting at the unique palace at Sochi.
