Toronto International Film Festival is back in its 43rd outing and like every year plans to bring actors closer to the audience with more open conversations about their recent work and obviously some amazing movies that will premiere at the event.
Drake will introduce the opening night screening of the indie drama 'Monsters and Men'. The film is important as it is about the aftermath of a police killing of a black man by director Reinaldo Marcus Green.
Actors Hilary Swank, Mahershala Ali and Maggie Gyllenhaal will become keynote speakers. They are set to take part in candid conversations as part of the Toronto Film Festival's In Conversation With... series, organizers said Thursday.
Hillary will talk about ‘What They Had’, the directorial debut from screenwriter Elizabeth Chomko. She will speak about her Oscar-winning career, as will fellow Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali, who is bringing his latest film, Peter Farrelly's 1960s-set road trip movie ‘Green Book’ to TIFF.
Maggie will take part in her own on-stage discussion about her career, while she brings her latest film, Sara Colangelo's Sundance drama ‘The Kindergarten Teacher’.
Toronto International Film Festival is set to run from September 6 to 16.
