2018 Emmy nominations are different than before in more than one ways. Not only did Netflix bring in a new era by downsizing HBO after bagging the highest number of nominations, but there’s an Asian actress who found her name in the nominations list in lead actress category, for the first time ever.
Actress Sandra Oh has been nominated for Emmy 2018 in lead actress in a drama series category along the likes of Claire Foy (The Crown), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Keri Russell (The Americans), Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld).
The actress received her Emmy nomination for the critically acclaimed BBC America thriller Killing Eve. Sandra plays Eve Polastri, an MI5 officer who is tailing an assassin played by Jodie Comer. As the two continue chasing one another, they start to become obsessed with one another.
Sandra was born in Canada to Korean immigrant parents and has appeared in movies including The Princess Diaries, Under the Tuscan Sun, Big Fat Liar and her feature debut, Double Happiness. She also starred on the series Arliss in the late 1990s.
She is most famous for her role in Grey’s Anatomy -- for which she has been nominated five times in the supporting category.
