Noted Bollywood actor who appeared in Hindi feature films mostly in a negative role, Mahesh Anand, was found dead in his Andheri flat on Mumbai on Saturday morning.
According to Mumbai police, Anand is said to have died at least two days ago. He was living alone and was jobless for some time now.
His body was reportedly decomposing when the police reached his flat. They have now sent his body for autopsy to the Cooper Hospital to ascertain the time and cause of death.
Anand was a popular actor in the late 1980s and 1990s. He was seen in films like âMajboorâ (1989), âThanedaarâ (1990), âBetaaj Badshahâ (1994), âCoolie No 1â (1995), Vijeta (1996), âLal Badshahâ, âAaya Toofanâ (1999), and several others. After a long gap of over 15 years, he was recently seen in Pahlaj Nihalani's âRangeela Raaaâ with Govinda, which released in January this year.
As the investigation continues, the Versova Police have registered a case of accidental death.
