''I had friends try to cheer me up by saying, ‘Malcolm’s not going to remember this. Don’t worry.’ But I just kept thinking to myself, ‘I’m going to remember this, that I missed all these things.’ It’s his childhood, but it’s my motherhood, and I don’t want to miss any of these parts if I don’t have to," the actress recalled.

As a result of this new surgery, Munn will not be able to become pregnant again. However, she decided to undergo the treatment after she took the medication for estrogen suppression, which had caused her  “next-level, debilitating exhaustion.”

Olivia Munn On Freezing Her Eggs

Amidst her cancer battle, Olivia is hopeful of growing her family. The X-Men: Apocalypse actor is a mother to two-year-old son Malcolm with comedian boyfriend John Mulaney. During the same interview, the actress talked about freezing her eggs, revealing that she has done it on three different occasions.

“It's interesting because my 33-year-old eggs were great. My 39-year-old eggs? None of them worked," Munn said. "As you get older, one month can have great eggs, the other not so much."

"Clearly, the month we did at 39 was not a good month. After my diagnosis, we decided to try one more round of egg retrievals and hoped it was a good month. John and I talked about it a lot and we don't feel like we're done growing our family, but didn't know if I would have to do chemotherapy or radiation," she said.

Munn's Cancer Diagnosis

On March 13, Olivia announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had undergone four surgeries. The actress was diagnosed with Luminal B cancer after she decided to calculate her Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score.

Earlier, she revealed that she had undergone a double mastectomy. Following this, she underwent subsequent reconstructive surgery and hormone suppression therapy to lower the risk of cancer in the future.
