After a huge failure at the box office, actor Tim Dillon, who played the role of Arkham Asylum guard, has talked about Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga's musical, which he called, one of “the worst films ever made.”

During his appearance on The Joe Rogan podcast, Tim said “I think what happened, after the first Joker, there was a lot of talk like, ‘Ooh, this was loved by incels. This was loved by the wrong kinds of people. This sent the wrong kind of message. Male rage! Nihilism!’ All these think pieces. And then I think ‘What if we went the other way?’ And now they have Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga tap dancing to a point where it’s insane.”

Adding further, he said all the cast members had a kind of feeling that the sequel was going to be a dud at the box office while the movie was being shot.

Saying that there was no plot, Dillon described, “It has no plot. We would sit there, me and these other guys were all dressed in these security outfits because we’re working at the Arkham Asylum, and I would turn to one of them, and we’d hear this crap, and I’d go, ‘What the fuck is this?’ And they’d go, ‘This is going to bomb, man.’ I go, ‘This is the worst thing I’ve ever…’ We were talking about it at lunch, and we’d go, ‘What is the plot? Is there a plot? I don’t know, I think he falls in love with her in the prison?’ … It’s not even hate watchable. That’s how terrible it is.”

After the success of Joker, the audience had huge expectations from the second part, which had Phoenix and Gaga, the two acting powerhouses, playing the lead. However, the film failed to live up to expectations.

Released on Oct. 4 worldwide, the movie earned $204 million on a $190–200 million budget. If we look at the numbers of the 2019 movie, it was a huge box office hit and earned a staggering $1.07 billion at the global box office. The original movie was made on a $65 million budget.
