The Bear and Shōgun lead the Emmy nominations! Beloved FX series The Bears earned 23 nominations at the 76th Emmy Awards. The nomination list was announced on Wednesday the comedy show, set in a sandwich shop in Chicago leads the list along with the drama series Shōgun. The Emmys is considered the top television award, honouring the best of TV and OTT. 

The Bear's 23 nominations broke the record of another iconic comedy show 30 Rock which had earned 22 nods at Emmys 2009. 

In the drama category, Shōgun led the nominations with 25 nods. The record of 32 nominations, held by HBO’s Game of Thrones since 2016, remains unbroken. 

Some past favourites, including Succession and Ted Lasso, were not in contention this year, but The Crown and The Morning Show and Only Murders in the Building found mentions in the list and earned multiple nominations.

Sheryl Lee Ralph and Tony Hale announced this year’s nominees. Ralph also earned a nomination in the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy for her work on Abbott Elementary. She had won in the category back in 2022. 

The 76th Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, September 15 on ABC. For Indian fans, the awards will be streamed Live on September 16 at 5:30 am (IST) only on Lionsgate Play.
