Young actor Babil Khan has been roped in for filmmaker Shoojit Sircar's next. According to sources, Babil has already started filming for the project in Darjeeling, a hilly town in West Bengal. 

The source said, “Babil has started shooting for Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming production in Darjeeling. Like his every film and character, this one’s also equally exciting and unique. He will be donning a new look and has especially grown a beard for his character in the film.”

Shoojit Sircar who is known for his films like Piku, Yahaan, Vicky Donor and Gulabo Sitabo, recently announced his untitled next which will co-star Abhishek Bachchan in the lead. Looks like Babil too is part of the same project. The film's production is underway presently in Darjeeling and Sircar has not revealed much about it except that it is a slice-of-life film.

Babil has in a short period, created an impact in the film industry with his choice of projects. The late Irrfan Khan's son has shown versatility in his films and earned critical praise for each of his films. He made an impressive debut in Qala, then followed it with the teenage comedy Friday Night Plan. He was last seen in The Railway Men where his performance was appreciated by audiences as well as critics.
