Turkey and Russia signed an accord on Friday under which the former will buy two S-400 surface-to-air missile batteries from Russia.
The agreement would facilitate cooperation, technological gains and joint development between both the nations.
The first delivery will be made by the first quarter of 2020, the Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) said on Friday.
The systems would be managed by Turkish personnel, rather than Russian advisors.
