A 19-year-old girl was found dead in a hotel freezer over the weekend.

Kenneka Jenkins' family is now demanding answers as the designated authorities investigate her death.

Jenkins' body was found in a walk-in freezer at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosemont at 12:30 am, Sunday.

The girl was partying with her friends at the hotel till late Friday night when she went missing. Her friends called up the parents at around 4:30 am to inform that they could not find her. They, however, possessed her truck keys and mobile phone.

The teen's mother tried to convince the hotel staff to look into the surveillance video for her missing daughter but they said that they would need a missing person's report. The mother claims that the police told her to wait for a few hours to see if her daughter showed up. When not found for some hours, a report was filed.

After an 11 hour long search, hotel staff found the teenager dead in the freezer, after the police contacted the management with the required report.

The family said investigators told them that the footage showed Jenkins stumbling and appeared to be heavily drunk. Police told them she might have been trapped in the freezer by accident -- but the Jenkins' family members disagree.

"The freezer door is heavy. I worked in a cafeteria before. It's no way if she's drunk, and they saying she's stumbling, so she don't have no strength," her sister, Leonore Harris, told the station, according to a report in CBS News. "That's my baby sister. How can I live life knowing I'll never see her again?"

An autopsy was unable to ascertain the cause of death. Authorities say that it could take weeks to determine the cause of death.

Rosemont police is interviewing everyone who contacted Jenkins on the day of her death. They are also looking into the Facebook Live video that some believe shows Jenkins with friends on the night of the party.
