The South Korean defence minister Han Min-koo has revealed that the country is ready to assassinate Kim Jong Un if it feels threatened by North Korean nuclear weapons, CNN reported today.

“We do have such a plan”, Han Min-koo was reported as saying in Parliament on Wednesday.

The plan, he added, included the use of precision missiles to eliminate North Korea's leadership.

South Korea has upped its ante against North Korea following Pyongyang’s claim that it had successfully tested a nuclear warhead earlier this month.

North Korea, on its part, has been critical of the US following the flyover of two US B-1B bombers close to the demilitarised zone between the two Koreas.
