The second meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un may happen sooner than expected, recent reports have stated.
According to a Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, Trump has proposed holding the second summit with Kim in mid-February.
The reports have mentioned Vietnam as the potential venue for the meeting.
Vietnam which hosts a North Korean embassy is also located within the limited flying range of Kim's personal jet.
The North Korean foreign minister Ri Yong-ho had met Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Hanoi in December.
US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo had also visited Vietnam in June last year during which he called on Kim to "seize the moment and replicate Hanoi's economic reforms".
Trump had said earlier that negotiations were underway to decide on the location of the next summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Trump, who held a historic summit with Kim in Singapore in June, said: "We are negotiating a location".
He had also mentioned about a receiving a "great letter" from North Korean leader.
