A 14-year-old student shot at a girl before killing herself in a Texas high school restroom on Thursday morning.
The injured, a student of Alpine High School, has been admitted to a hospital, although her injuries are not considered to be critical.
About 280 students of the school were evacuated. Other schools in the district were also shut, KWES TV reported.
A police officer was also accidentally shot in the leg, reports said.
Initial reports claimed that two shooters were at large. Later, it was confirmed that there was only one shooter in the school premises.
Students said they heard about five shots.
