Israel welcomed on Wednesday the Trump administration's move to close the Palestine Liberation Organization's office in Washington out of concern about Palestinian attempts to prompt an ICC investigation of Israel.

The United States "made the correct decision," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his cabinet ministers, adding that the Palestinians' "refusal to enter into negotiations with Israel and the unbridled attacks against Israel will not only not advance peace but will certainly not make things better for the Palestinians".

US national security adviser John Bolton said on Monday he did not believe the closure of the PLO office in Washington would shut the door on a long-delayed Arab-Israeli peace plan that Trump senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner has been developing for months

Israel welcomed the move and accused the Palestinians of seeing the court as a way of sidestepping US-sponsored bilateral talks. Those contacts stalled in 2014.
