Annual women's march took place over the weekend in different parts of the world with female celebrities, activists and regular women coming out to speak up against sexual harassment, gender issues, Time's Up movement, empowerment and justice.
While many came out to talk about their personal experiences, there were some who read out inspirational pieces.
The US singer and songwriter Halsey penned a powerful and emotional poem on sexual abuse that she read it out at the Women's March.
Titled “A Story Like Mine" her poem is not one for the faint-hearted and includes experiences of sexual assault and rape.
In her poem, Halsey told of how she was sexually assaulted as a child and of how she went with her best friend to Planned Parenthood after she was raped. She introduced the poem by saying: “I don’t really know how to do a speech unless it rhymes, so I’m gonna do a little poem for you guys."
Halsey speaks about a former lover who would force her to have sex, how she had to go through a miscarriage and how being in the public eye has not protected her from abuse.
