The spin-off looks like a horror version of the original sci-fi movie
Fans of the "X-Men" universe have something to look forward to and it's not another movie on the theme, at least not exactly.
Director Josh Boone has made a spin-off of the original "X-Men" movie theme and made a creepier, horror version of it. Titled "The New Mutants", the movie's official poster is out and there are several screaming faces breathless against a plain white sheet.
The movie is about the story of younger mutants who end up forming a new team, learning to cope with their powers and trying to escape a secret facility where they are imprisoned currently.
"The New Mutants" stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Henry Zaga, Blu Hunt, Alice Braga and Charlie Heaton.
The movie, as announced, will not be a lone film but will be part of an alternate universe that Boone is building. In a statement, he said, "Fox made Deadpool and Logan and they were sort of so tonally different they felt emboldened to let us go make it different, and make have its own distinct tone and identity. I think of the mainline X-Men movies more as grand operative science-fiction films. This is much more of a performance-driven horror film."
The movie is set for a release next year on April 11.
