This comes a day after a shooting attack at a Washington state mall left at least five people dead
At least eight people, including a three-year-old girl, were injured during a shooting incident in East Baltimore late on Saturday night, police officials said.
None of the injuries were life-threatening, Baltimore police spokesman T J Smith informed on Twitter. He added that three suspects apparently fled on foot. While one of them was armed with a shotgun, the other two had handguns.
The incident was reported just a block from where the city held a party on Saturday to dedicate "Open Works," which was described as a co-working space, Indian news agency PTI reported. Police had at least three blocks cordoned off and were keeping away bystanders and reporters.
At a news conference, a Baltimore police department spokesman told reporters that the "planned"shooting appeared to be in response to a fatal shooting on Labor Day that left one person dead and others injured, Reuters reported.
A separate shooting in Baltimore on Saturday left two people with non-life-threatening injuries, police added.
It's pertinent to mention that a shooting attack at a Washington state mall on Friday night left at least five people dead. The man believed to have opened fire was caught on Saturday, police said.
