China-bound Delta flight returns to Seattle after passenger assaults crew member onboard

A Delta Air Lines flight bound for Beijing had to return to Seattle after an unruly passenger assaulted a flight attendant onboard.

The passenger was then subdued by others on the flight, a Seattle-Tacoma International Airport spokesman said.

Two people were sent to the hospital and the passenger has been arrested by the police,  airport spokesman Perry Cooper said.

The flight took off at 5.30 pm from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport but had to return after 45 minutes after a man assaulted a flight attendant in the first-class cabin.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is also assisting the police in the case.
