Paraguay beat Chile comfortably in the South American World Cup qualifier match to keep their hopes alive to enter the finals in Russia next year.

Paraguay's 3-0 goal rush was led by Arturo Vidal, Victor Caceres and Richard Ortiz with Alexis Sanchez failing to make any impact for the home team.

In the other South American qualifier, Brazil beat Ecuador 2-0 to guarantee top spot in South America's World Cup qualifying race. Paulinho and Coutinho helped the South American giants to clinch the tie as the Brizalian giants looked to conquer the odds in an unpredictable qualifying round.
Argentina, however, stumbled to a 0-0 draw against Uruguay in Montevideo.

Uruguay star Suarez looked to score several times but the match ended goalless at the end of 90 minutes.

The draw means Uruguay remain in third place, one behind Colombia, who were held to a 0-0 draw against Venezuela who have already been eliminated.
