Skipper Prithvi Shaw on Saturday took the driver's seat and led India from the front with a stellar 94 run-knock along with 180 runs partnership with fellow opener Manoj Kalra in the ongoing ICC U-19 World Cup opener.

Shaw faced 100 balls and hit eight boundaries, including two sixes in his innings, falling just six runs short of a century after being caught behind off Will Sutherland.

In-form Manoj also tormented the Australian bowlers with his 86-run knock. He later fell off Param Uppal's bowling.

But the major attraction which delighted the fans was the similarity in shots of Shaw and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

"That is Tendulkar," said Ian Bishop on commentary when Shaw played a glorious drive off the front foot.

The fans took to Twitter to divulge the similarity they saw and also praise Shaw for his spectacular innings.

Indian top-order batting vindicated Shaw's decision to bat in their tournament-opener.

Even after the two openers were dismissed, there was no respite for Australia, with Shubhman Gill destroying the bowlers with his 63-run knock.

The middle order batsmen lost their wickets, trying to accelerate the run-rate as Himanshu Rana (14) and Anukul Roy (6) fell cheaply.

Australia needs 329 runs to defeat India in ICC U-19 World Cup opener.
