US Open: Sloane Stephens overcomes Venus, to clash against Keys in final

American Sloane Stephens beat two-time champion Venus Williams in a tough three-set encounter to reach the US Open women's finals at the USTA Billie Jean King national tennis center in New York.

Sloane, ranked 83 in the world, overcame the former US Open champion Venus Williams 6-1, 0-6, 7-5 to ensure a berth in Saturday's final.

In the other semi-final on Friday, Madison Keys beat fellow American CoCo Vandeweghe 6-1, 6-2 to ensure an all-American final.
