IPL media rights auction: Star India wins TV, digital rights

Star India has won the IPL media rights -- broadcast and digital -- for the next five years (2018-2022) with a bid of Rs 16,347.50 crores ($255 million).
Sony Pictures earlier held the TV rights for the mega cricket event for the last ten years.
Vivo has retained the title sponsorship for the next five years (2018-22). The Chinese company bid 2,199 crores for the title sponsorship which was 554% higher than its previous bid.
