The Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) will decide on Maria Sharapova's appeal against a two-year tennis ban in the first week of October, Reuters reported today.

The five-time grand slam champion tested positive for meldonium, a banned drug, during Australian Open in January.

She filed the petition three days after the International Tennis Federation (ITF) imposed the ban, seeking to either reduce the sentence or remove it.
