Ashes series 2017 started today on November 23 in a rather dramatic manner with the match stopping in between after heavy rains in Gabba.

Although the first Test match started post-rains subsided, after a little over an hour, there was a lot happening between players from both sides since yesterday.

On Wednesday, former greats from both teams, England and Australia were seen having a good time by taking digs at one another. Former England spinner Graeme Swann made fun of former Aussie wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist on Twitter. Swann made fun of Gilchrist's ear, amusing Twitterati.

It started when Gilchrist posted a picture on Twitter when he was seen putting on a couple of earplugs. His post read: "Time to get in on the #Ashes twitter war of words. Getting ready for my commentary stint with @Swannyg66 on @btsportcricket tomorrow."

Swann responded to Gilchrist's post with: "Just how many earplugs can you fit in those satellite dishes...?????"

Twitter users had a field day when they saw both cricket greats having a fun time before the challenging series.

England and Australia are back to facing each other in a five-match Ashes contest at the Gabba on Thursday. The teams will be lead by new captains Joe Root and Steven Smith.
