Vikas Swarup appointed India's envoy to Canada

Vikas Swarup, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, was on Thursday appointed as lndia's ambassador to Canada.

He will replace Arun Kumar Sahu, who is currently the acting high commissioner to Canada.

Swarup is an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer of 1986 batch. He is presently additional secretary in the ministry of external affairs.
