India's former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar who was nominated to Rajya Sabha in 2012 made a rare appearance in the Upper House today. He had another sportsperson Mary Kom to give him company.

During the last Rajya Sabha session Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha member Naresh Chandra Agrawal had raised objections over Tendulkar's continued absence from India's Upper House.

Agrawal had said Tendulkar should resign from the House as his attendance was very low. Tendulkar's attendance in India's Upper House is less than 6 per cent, according to a survey.

In fact, Tendulkar has never participated in any debate in the House. Sachin has asked only two questions, the first one in 2015, almost three years after his appointment.
