Sri Lankan Navy has apprehended ten Indian fishermen and a boat from Ramanathapuram in sea area north of Delft Island, ANI reported.

Last Tuesday, Sri Lanka had released seventy-seven Indian fishermen and India had reciprocated by releasing twelve Lankan fishermen held in each other's custody to defuse tension following the killing of an Indian fisherman.

Britjo, a 21-year-old fisherman from Tamil Nadu, was killed and another injured on March 6, 2017 allegedly by the Sri Lankan Navy. The incident sparked widespread protests by Indian fishermen resulting in Indian and Sri Lankan government's coming together to defuse tensions.
