Nitish Kumar was sworn in as chief minister on Thursday morning
The RJD has cancelled its protest march on the Patna Raj Bhawan after section 144 was imposed around it.
The RJD had on Wednesday asked to meet the Bihar governor to stake a claim to forming the new government.
The RJD is the largest party in the state, it has the highest number of MLAs.
The governor gave the RJD a time of 11 am.
But then announced that Nitish Kumar and the BJP's Sushil Modi would be sworn in at 10 am.
