A rocket attack in Afghanistan's northern Baghlan province killed at least 8 and wounded 14 others, Khaama Press reported today.

The incident happened yesterday in the new city of Baghlan Markazi, Khaama reported.

Baghlan province's public health officials confirmed the death of 8 civilians, including a woman and two children.

Officials warned that the death toll could rise further since the injured were in critical condition.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Khaama had earlier reported another rocket attack on the governor's compound in Baghlan in February this year. One person was killed and two wounded in that attack.
