Pakistan: 8 killed, several injured as Lahore rocked by twin blasts

The provincial capital of Pakistan's Punjab, Lahore, was rocked by two explosions on Wednesday. In the first, which according to Dawn took place in the Y Block area in a defence locality, eight were killed and fifteen were injured. The nature of the blast is still unknown, according to a government source in Punjab.

The second explosion took place in the upscale Gulberg area of Lahore, according to a Reuters report which quoted an anonymous Punjab government official. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
These explosions come at a time when Pakistan has recently been hit by a string of bombings.
The Pakistan Army has launched a massive hunt for militants across the country after more than 80 people were killed in a blast in a Sufi shrine in Sindh province last week.
